WHAT IS PERSONAL COACHING?
Personal coaching means the coach and the client work one-on-one.
It involves a series of 2 to 4-hour work sessions that take place at a pace determined according to individual requirements and objectives, with an average of 6 sessions over 3 to 6 months.
THE COACHING SESSION
Coaching sessions may be held at either the client’s or the coach’s office, and they are geared toward specific goals. Focus is on the “how” rather than the “why”, and methods include engaging in objective analysis, assessing the big picture, and tapping into previously unsolicited resources.
Coaching is a means for executives to explore, defend, and develop management scenarios. It is an opportunity to look for new solutions and eliminate “blind spots”. Coaching stimulates and motivates people to do better, providing them with a safe haven in which to receive the feedback they need to grow. The relationship between the coach and the coachee is therefore extremely important.
